Motorcycling demands focus, maturity, and personal responsibility. You are learning to operate a powerful, fast, and potentially high-risk vehicle. At TMT, we take this responsibility seriously, and will do our part to help you on your journey into motorcycling. In return, we ask all our riders to come prepared.
Your responsibility as a motorcyclist starts now. Please read the instructions below carefully. Failing to follow them may result in being turned away on the day and failing the course.
Course time and location:
Please check your confirmation SMS for your course date, time and location. Please arrive on time, as late arrivals may miss essential safety briefing information and course content, resulting in a failing grade.
Can I cancel or reschedule my course?
We work hard to make our courses accessible, which means rostering extra coaches, extending hours, reserving bikes especially for you, and booking training sites well in advance. We ask for advance notice for cancellations or reschedules. Our policy, provided at the time of booking, requires 14 days’ notice for cancellations or reschedule requests. For cancellation requests made more than 14 days before the scheduled course, a 10% non-refundable fee applies to cover administrative and transaction costs.
Will you have a motorcycle or scooter for me to use?
Yes! Complimentary bike and scooter hire is included in every booking. Our fleet is modern and immaculately maintained, including KTM Duke 200s (one of the best learner bikes out there), CF MOTO Papios (with lowered seat height options at 70 cm), and automatic scooters. Helmets and gloves are also available if needed, though you’re welcome to bring your own.
Where is the training held?
Our flagship Yarrawonga site is located at 19 Georgina Crescent, Yarrawonga, just behind the Gateway Shopping Centre.
On street parking is available. We are the only riding school on a main public transport route.
Doors will be open 15 minutes prior to your start time. Full details are provided in your booking confirmation.
What happens if it rains?
Courses run in all weather, rain or shine, as our training has been structured for Territory conditions. Riding in different weather is an important part of safe training, and our coaches will help you build confidence to ride to the conditions. Only in extreme weather (such as cyclones) would we postpone. If that happens, we’ll contact you and reschedule at no extra cost.
What do I need to bring and wear to my course?
Motorcycling is a powerful and potentially high-risk activity, and personal responsibility begins with correct attire. Riders who arrive in unsuitable clothing will not be permitted to ride and will record a failing grade.
At a minimum, you must wear:
-Long pants such as jeans or cargo pants
-A long-sleeved shirt such as a fishing shirt or motorcycle jacket (jumpers and hoodies are not recommended in the heat)
-Closed shoes, such as work boots
Please note that t-shirts, shorts, and open footwear are not suitable protective attire. You will not be permitted to ride if you are wearing incorrect clothing.
Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Kitchen facilities (including a fridge) are available on site, and there are surrounding cafes if you wish to purchase lunch.
What if I am late to my course or miss my course?
Your responsibility as a motorcyclist starts now. Please arrive at least five minutes early to allow time for parking and settling in. We teach to a mandatory curriculum with a lot of ground to cover, and must begin on time. Doors are locked promptly at the scheduled start, and late arrivals will miss mandatory content and receive a failing grade. Late arrivals and no-shows are treated as cancellations without notice under our policy and are not eligible for refunds or reschedules.
How do I pay for my booking?
Payment is required at the time of booking through our online portal to secure your place. We accept all major cards and gift vouchers. If you require a different payment method or would like assistance with booking over the phone, please call our rider care team on 0473 077 926, available 24/7.
Don’t forget the MVR theory test!
In addition to your practical course with us, you’ll need to complete a multiple-choice motorcycle knowledge test at the MVR. This can be done before or after your course with us.
You MUST be a NT resident with a NT customer ID number or NT driver licence to be eligible for a licence outcome from our courses - please bring this number with you, as we cannot process your licence outcome without it.
